Our mission is to help users understand what's in their food — clearly and safely — without compromising your privacy.

- Your Email Address (optional, for support or syncing purposes)
- Payment Information (processed securely through third-party providers for subscriptions)

b. Image Data (Scanned Labels)
When you scan a food label or ingredient list using our app:
- The image is sent to our trusted third-party AI providers for real-time analysis
- The image is NOT stored on our servers or by our third-party providers
- Only the **scan result** (e.g. ingredient breakdown, risk analysis) is saved — and only **locally on your device**

c. Usage Data (Non-Personal)
We may collect anonymized app usage data, such as:
- Which features are used most frequently
- Performance metrics and error logs for debugging

This data does not identify you personally and is only used to improve the app.

2. How We Process Your Scanned Images

We use external AI services to analyze scanned ingredient lists. Here's how we protect your data:

- 📸 Image is captured and sent securely to our AI provider
- ⚡ Processed ephemerally (temporarily) to return analysis results
- 🗑️ Image is never stored — not by us, not by our providers
- 💾 Results are saved only on your device for later review

At no point is the image or result tied to your identity unless you choose to back it up (coming feature).

3. Third-Party Providers

We work with trusted third-party services to enable image recognition, ingredient analysis, and food risk scoring.

- These services **do not store your images**
- They process your data **in-memory only**, and discard it after returning results
- We have data protection agreements in place to enforce strict privacy and deletion policies

4. Why We Collect Data

We collect data for the following purposes:

- To analyze food labels and deliver accurate risk reports
- To display previous scans on your device
- To improve performance and detect bugs
- To process optional subscriptions or support requests

5. Data Sharing and Selling

We do **not** sell or share your personal data with any third parties for marketing.

The only external data exchange is the **ephemeral processing** of image data by our AI providers, as explained above.

6. Data Security

We take your security seriously:

- All data transmission is encrypted via SSL/TLS
- Payment information is handled by PCI-compliant processors
- Local scan data is protected by your device’s security features
- We routinely audit third-party compliance and app privacy practices

7. Your Rights and Control

You have full control of your data:

- You can delete any scan result from your device
- You can request support for data issues via email
- We do not keep any of your images or scan history on our servers
